About us

History

Kirstein-Larisch – a family business with a long tradition. The Anselm Larisch Stamp Shop, established in 1879, conducted its first stamp auction in 1932 in Munich, Germany. During the following six decades, numerous world rarities and renowned collections were auctioned off.

In 1992, the great-granddaughter of the founder decided to sell the company to Peter Kirstein. The latter, an auctioneer since 1967, ran the auction house as owner under the name “Kirstein-Larisch” until 2003, when his son Thomas took over. Since then, Thomas Kirstein has been running the auction house as owner. With his expert staff, he has been continuously expanding the worldwide customer base ever since.
